March Partnership Spotlight: ECARE

Our event partner this month is ECARE, Every Child A Reader in Escambia.  Their mission is to "maximize children’s potential through increased school readiness"  so that "every student starts kindergarten ready to learn."  You can learn more about this wonderful volunteer organization at our March Meeting on March 20th (register on the Events tab).  Or you can explore their website at https://www.escambiareads.org/.

Clean Energy and TransportationCommittee

Committee Objective: The Clean Energy and Transportation Committee is working to help make Florida # 1 in Solar Energy and Electric Vehicle Initiatives. We have two main areas of focus for clean energy: expansion of rooftop solar and adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Some of our work includes the establishment of solar co-ops in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, engaging local officials about the benefits of the installation of solar and use of EVs, participation in monthly statewide calls, and helping with (virtual) outreach and education on solar energy. In addition, we are currently working on the creation of energy conservation curriculum for the school districts in a four (4) county area.

Monthly Meetings: We currently meet via Zoom on the 2nd Monday of each month at 11:00 AM.
